On the morning of March 15th, Liu Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Municipal Science and Technology Work, together with Qin Wenbo, President of the Shanghai Academy of Science, and the heads of relevant departments of the Municipal Science and Technology Work Party Committee and the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, went to the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics for research. Uo Jiue, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Teng Huaiqiang, Director of the Institute, Jia Feng, Deputy Director of the Institute, and the heads of relevant departments attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Director Tang Huajiang and Party Secretary Wu Qiujie reported on the business work and party building work of the Institute, respectively. Comrade Jia Feng, who had just taken office for a month, talked about his specific work plans for the next step, hoping to contribute to the development of the Institute through hard work, and also hoped to receive strong support from the higher authorities. Subsequently, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Work Party Committee and the various departments of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission put forward targeted opinions and suggestions for the development of the Institute, hoping that the Institute would focus on the transformation and development of the Institute of Science and Technology, improve its own construction, and have professional, serialized, high-end, and intelligent technical products.
Liu Yan praised the work of the Institute of Optics and also put forward the requirement of planning new development. He emphasized that this year is a special year with many sensitive time nodes, and the party's construction cannot be relaxed. We should focus on development and adhere to the bottom line. The Institute of Optics has high-quality resources and should "unite internally and connect externally" to play a greater role. He believes that Comrade Jia Feng's transfer time is not long, and he can quickly enter the role, which increases the confidence of the Party Committee of the Municipal Science and Technology Work in promoting the exchange of cadres. He stated that when the Institute of Optics is in trouble, he will definitely fully support and discuss development together.
During the research period, Secretary Liu Yan and his party visited the Haoshun Technology Co., Ltd., the research and development center, and the metrology laboratory under the Shanghai Instrument Institute.
