Shangyi Institute cares for centenarians in the community

The nursing home was filled with laughter and the fragrance of osmanthus filled the garden. On the morning of September 24th, the party affairs office and the youth league members of our unit once again visited the Pu'an nursing home in the Pingliang Road community to visit and comfort the elderly who had paired with the community - Mr. Meng Zicheng. When we entered the door, Mr. Meng's kind face wore a smile and he nodded slightly to us.

The nursing home was filled with laughter and the fragrance of osmanthus filled the garden. On the morning of September 24th, the party affairs office and the youth league members of our unit once again visited the Pu'an nursing home in the Pingliang Road community to visit and comfort the elderly who had paired with the community - Mr. Meng Zicheng. When we entered the door, Mr. Meng's kind face wore a smile and he nodded slightly to us. Yes, "the first time is a charm, the second time is familiar," after all, we had met seven or eight times, and we were already very familiar with each other. The youth league members surrounded the old man and asked him interestingly about his daily life, diet, etc., as if they were going to dig out the secret of the old man's longevity from the details. At 105 years old this year, Mr. Meng is healthy although he is old, dressed neatly, and has a regular life. He sits quietly in a wicker chair, like a quiet river, giving people a sense of calm and peace. The careful care of the nursing home, the rotation of care by the children every day, and the care of the streets and social organizations allow the old man to enjoy his old age happily. Before leaving, we made an appointment with the old man - to meet again in the Spring Festival of 2016.
