Revisiting the Long March Through Light and Shadow, Forging Our Original Aspirations and Setting Forth Anew: The Party General Branch of Shangyi Institute Held an Arts‑Based Party Lecture Featuring a Screening of “Four Crossings.”

To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Red Army’s Long March victory, carry forward the red heritage, and further enrich and innovate the formats and mediums of Party education, on the afternoon of July 29, the Party General Branch of Shangyi Institute organized all its members to attend a cultural‑artistic Party class and watch the film “Four Crossings.”

The film “Crossing the Chishui Four Times” centers on the Battle of Crossing the Chishui Four Times, vividly bringing to life the momentous chapter in which the Central Red Army, facing overwhelming enemy forces and extremely harsh conditions, relied on unwavering ideals, superb military acumen, and flexible, mobile tactics to outmaneuver and strike with unexpected precision, thereby breaking free from the encirclement of 400,000 Nationalist troops. Through gripping battle scenes and deeply moving revolutionary stories, the film profoundly embodies the great spirit of the Long March—“upholding faith, seeking truth from facts, overcoming difficulties, and forging ahead through unity”—transporting viewers across time and space to stand amidst those tumultuous years of relentless warfare.

The silver screen has captured the last flicker of smoke rising from the battlefields, yet those fiery, heroic years remain ever present. Though the smoke of the Four Crossings of the Chishui River has long since cleared, the drumbeat of revolutionary progress still resounds. The miracle of the Four Crossings teaches us that no impasse is insurmountable; only by facing adversity head-on and advancing with adaptability can we break through hardship and stride toward a brighter future. In this age of peace, we may not confront the flames of war, but we must never forget our original red aspirations nor abandon the spirit of struggle. As people of the new era, we should cherish the memory of those momentous years, honor the spirits of the revolutionary martyrs, carry forward the indomitable spirit of the Long March, hold fast to our ideals, and shoulder our mission with courage. With a spirit of relentless endeavor, let us embark on this new journey, ensuring that the flame of red heritage burns brightly for generations to come.

Following the film screening, all participants engaged in a lively discussion, drawing on their own professional experiences. They unanimously agreed that the Four Crossings of the Chishui River stands as both a marvel in military history and a towering monument in the annals of spiritual resilience. This campaign teaches us that, when confronted with adversity, we must not cling to outdated practices; instead, we must remain grounded in reality and adapt with flexibility. As Party members, we should transform the profound impact of this viewing into a powerful driving force for fulfilling our duties and responsibilities, integrating the spirit of the Long March into our company’s operations. When faced with challenges—akin to the “Chishui River” in our work—we must dare to break new ground, shoulder our responsibilities with courage, and embrace the new journey of the company’s high‑quality development with even greater vigor and determination.
