The first stop of the "Popular Science into Campus" campaign of the Party Committee of Shanghai Instrument and Control Research Institute officially started

In 2021, the Party Committee of Shanghai Institute of Instrument and Control Technology took the lead in organizing activities based on demand-oriented approach, with the aim of innovating the ways of Party organization activities, popularizing scientific knowledge, and cultivating future scientific researchers. Relying fully on the Party building joint construction platform of the Institute of Science and Technology, it promoted the brand of the Institute of Science and Technology, planned and organized the "Science Popularization into Schools" activity, sowed the seeds of science, and conveyed science popularization knowledge.

Relying fully on the Party building joint construction platform of the Institute of Science and Technology, it promoted the brand of the Institute of Science and Technology, planned and organized the "Science Popularization into Schools" activity, sowed the seeds of science, and conveyed science popularization knowledge.

On the morning of March 16th, the first stop of the "Science Popularization into Schools" initiative officially set sail. The Party Committee of the Institute invited the teachers and students of the Huai De Road First Primary School to step out of the school gate and visit the scientific research building of the Institute. By understanding the history of the Institute, they could get a glimpse of the miniature of the development of China's science and technology.

The activities this time mainly consist of visits and interactive experiences. First, starting from the newly established history exhibition on the 7th floor of the Institute of Optics, the explanations from the staff of the Institute of Optics, instead of "speaking", attract the attention of students and tell the teachers and students about the establishment of the Institute of Optics, the process of the first Chinese Chinese typewriter (1011 Chinese typewriter) and the representative R&D products of the Institute of Optics over the years. The activities integrate many interactive and experiential activities, allowing students to touch the 1011 Chinese typewriter, visit the production factory of the subordinate company, and experience the children's attention tester, jaundice meter, hearing meter and other instruments.

Organizing a student activity, whether it is a success or not, the actual feedback from the students is the most authoritative evaluation. For this event, the students were highly enthusiastic and participated actively. After the event, the students all wrote down their thoughts and feelings:

1. Today, I visited the Shanghai Institute of Instrument and Meter, where I saw many instruments, such as: jaundice meter, IQ meter, concentration meter... I have a deeper understanding of China's instruments and meters, and we also love our motherland, which has always adhered to scientific development, more. (Students of the third grade)

2. Today, I am very happy because I visited the Shanghai Institute of Instrument and Meter, where I saw the first generation of typewriters and many advanced and exquisite instruments. I also personally experienced the instrument for testing concentration, which was both novel and interesting. This dream-realizing journey has made me aware of the great efforts made by the people of our country in the history of science, and I love my motherland even more. (Student of Grade 4) 

3. I feel very honored to participate in this activity, and at the same time, I am very excited and happy. In the Shanghai Institute of Instrument and Meter, we learned about the progress of Chinese science, especially the researchers at that time, who, despite the difficult and simple conditions under the background of the times, still insisted on researching the input method of Chinese characters, and finally laid a very important foundation for our country's input method technology. I feel very admiring and also proud of the wisdom of our Chinese people. Therefore, we should study hard and become a valuable person when we grow up! (Fifth-grade students)

This science popularization activity has narrowed the distance between students and science and technology, stimulated their dream of exploring the vast stars of science, and planted the seeds of "Chinese Dream" and "Science and Technology Dream" in their young hearts, looking forward to these cute kids becoming the successors of China's science and technology career one day!
