Yan Guoqiang, Vice President of the Shanghai Academy of Sciences, visited our institute to conduct a special party lecture on the "Four Histories" study and education

On September 10th, in order to thoroughly implement the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the important deployment of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee on carrying out the study and education of the history of the Party, the history of New China, the history of reform and opening up, and the history of the development of socialism, according to the work arrangement, Comrade Yuan Guoxiang, the vice president of Shanghai Academy of Science and member of the Party Committee, went to the contact point of Instrument Institute to give a special party class on the study and education of the "Four Histories". This party class was hosted by Comrade Wu Qiuju, the Party Secretary of Instrument Institute, and attended by some Party members of the first Party branch of Shanghai Academy of Science, the leadership team of Instrument Institute, all Party members, Youth League members, active members of the Party, and non-Party members.

At the meeting, Yan Guoqiang delivered a special party class on "Reform and activation, innovation and development - the process and prospect of scientific research institute reform". He began with the definition and origin of scientific research institutes, and took the overall situation of scientific research institutes in China, their construction and development, and the reform and development changes of Shanghai scientific research institutes as the main thread. Through specific data and cases, he led everyone to review the reform and development process of scientific research institutes in China and even in Shanghai, summarized five important milestones in the 70-year history of science and technology, and deeply analyzed the problems existing in the development of scientific research institutes in China, and proposed the idea of orderly development of scientific research institutes supporting three models (public institutions scientific research institutes, enterprises scientific research institutes, and new R&D institutions). Finally, Academician Yan combined the current international situation, and thought and looked forward to the future development direction of scientific research institutes under the background of the current century's unprecedented great changes. The special party class has distinct views, clear threads, food for thought, and urges people to forge ahead, thus bringing enlightenment to the party members present: looking back at history, we should look back and not forget the road we have come; grasping the present, we should strive to face the wind and rain; looking forward to the future, we should work hard and strive for progress.

Comrade Wu Qiuju asked all the party members of the Institute to deeply understand the spirit of the special party lesson by Director Yuan, and after the lesson, each party branch held a special organizational life meeting to discuss and further understand the content of the party lesson. It is hoped that through this party lesson, the majority of party members, cadres and the masses will learn and apply history well, combine the development of learning and education with actual work, integrate it with the formulation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, actively integrate into the new development of the "Six Five Five" of the Institute of Science and Technology, and fight with a more full spirit to the main battlefield of scientific and technological innovation.
