"Red Footprints Monthly Visit" - Visiting the Starting Point of the Work-Study Movement in France - Party Day Activities on the Theme of "Four Histories" of the Shangyi Institute

The Party Committee of Shanghai Institute of Instrument and Meter has recently planned and organized all the Party members in the Institute to carry out the "Four Histories" learning and education - the Red Footprint Monthly Visit activity. It is planned to make full use of Shanghai's rich red resources from July to October (i.e., from the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China to the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China), to carry out on-site visits to memorial venues and revolutionary sites, to understand the relevant history, and to feel the past glorious years of the pioneers through monthly on-site visits and learning education, to deeply understand the rich connotation of the "Four Histories".

On the morning of July 9th, the Party Committee of the Institute of Optics and Precision Machinery started the first stop of the "Red Footsteps Monthly Visit" - visiting the "Departure Place: The Shanghai Wharf where the Youth who went to France for Work-Study left" and the Yangpu Riverside Public Space, Yangshupu Water Plant Riverside Section, where the General Secretary has walked.

More than 20 Party members, Youth League members, non-Party members, and active members of joining the Party came to the Yangpu Riverside in Fuxin to stand in front of the sand sculpture version of the painting at the Qinhuangdao Wharf, learn and listen to the red historical heritage on this land, feel the great achievements of reform and opening up, and appreciate the red spirit of the Yangpu workers' movement. Subsequently, they visited the "Yangshupu Post - Qinhuangdao Wharf Station" and the "Original Aspiration and People's City" photo exhibition located on the second floor of the Qinhuangdao Wharf, and understood the profound historical heritage of Yangpu as the birthplace of modern industry in Shanghai, the gathering place of higher education, and the center place of civil affairs and municipal government, with the "three hundred years" of a hundred industries, a hundred universities, and a hundred municipal governments. Feel the huge changes from the singing of the dock chant on the Huangpu River to the industrial rust belt becoming a beautiful belt for the people's wonderful life.

During the event, the comrades from the Shangyi Institute followed the footsteps of General Secretary Xi to visit the Yangpu Riverside Public Space, the Yangshupu Water Plant Riverside section, to see how the "industrial rust belt" has become a "cultural and creative show belt", to see how the "production shoreline" has been transformed into a "living shoreline, ecological shoreline, and scenic shoreline", to walk through the Yangshupu Water Plant where General Secretary Xi put forward the important concept of "the people's city is built by the people, and the people's city is for the people" during his inspection of Shanghai last year, and also to visit the former site of the Xinyi and Sha Factory.

Through this "Red Footsteps Visit Every Month" event, we encourage the comrades from the Shangyi Institute to revisit the revolutionary history, continue the red blood, remember the original intention and mission, and constantly draw on the powerful courage, spiritual strength, and wisdom experience to forge ahead, and to present excellent achievements to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party.
