Shanghai Institute of Instruments actively participated in the joint group learning activities - "Promoting the 'Lu Xun Spirit' to enhance cultural confidence" and "Practicing core values in innovation"

The group study activities sponsored by the Party Committee of the Shanghai Academy of Sciences, the Second Party Branch of the Shanghai Biopharmaceutical Science and Technology Industry Promotion Center, the General Branch Committee of the Shanghai Experimental Animal Research Center, the Party Committee of the Shanghai Instrument and Meter Research Institute, and the First, Second, and Sixth Party Branches of the Shanghai Family Planning Institute were successfully held in the lecture hall of the Shanghai Experimental Animal Research Center on May 9 and May 16. The activities were participated by the Party members, Communist Youth League members, and key scientific researchers of our institute.

The lecture "Promoting the 'Lu Xun Spirit' and Enhancing Cultural Confidence", led by Mr. Zhou Lingfei, the president of the Lu Xun Cultural Foundation and the grandson of Mr. Lu Xun, has painted a kind and amiable picture of Mr. Lu Xun in daily family life, enriching the image of Mr. Lu Xun, the national fighter who "aces the thousand fingers with a frowning brow, and devotes himself to the children with a willing head", in the hearts of the audience; it also elaborated on the value and significance of promoting the 'Lu Xun Spirit' in the new era.

 

Comrade Bao Qifan, a "Reformer Pioneer", a National Model Worker, and the "King of抓斗", delivered a lecture on the theme of "Practicing Core Values in Innovation". He shared his personal journey from a common dock worker with only a junior high school education to a technical expert who has won numerous international invention gold awards and led the establishment of international standards. Through his own experiences, he interpreted his innovative values of "patriotism as the foundation of innovation, dedication as the root of innovation, and integrity and friendship as the source of innovation", and he also shared with everyone his wisdom and insights on the road of innovation over the past 50 years. At the end of the lecture, Comrade Bao Qifan encouraged the vast number of scientific and technological workers at the Institute of Science and Technology of Shanghai: you are living in a good era when the country attaches great importance to the development of science and technology. You should have confidence and make your own contributions to the construction of Shanghai as a science and technology innovation center with international influence.

 

The Party members, Youth League members, and key scientific researchers from the Institute of Optics who attended the lecture all expressed that the group study activities can broaden their horizons, learn knowledge, and strengthen their beliefs, which are very good "spiritual food". They hope that similar study activities will be held more often in the future.
