In order to coordinate the 12th Academic Annual Meeting of Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, the Technical Seminar on Inspection Technology of Laboratory Standard Apparatus and Standardization Work, jointly sponsored by the Shanghai Instrument and Instrument Society and the Third National Standardization Committee of Electrical Instrument and Instrument, was grandly held in Qingdao on October 16, 2014. The main participants of this meeting included nearly 200 experts from State Grid Electric Power Company, various levels of electric power metering and testing institutions, research institutes, universities, equipment manufacturers, component suppliers, investment institutions and related units.

The meeting was presided over by Comrade Du Xingang, Deputy Director of the National Standardization Committee for Electrical Instruments and Apparatus, and Comrade Zhang Mingyuan, Director, gave a brief explanation of the significance of holding this meeting. At the meeting, comrades from the China Electric Power Research Institute introduced the implementation and execution of the on-site supervision standards for smart electric energy meters and the technical specifications for the components of smart electric energy meters.

This seminar focused on topics such as AMI and load control within the energy internet architecture, reliability analysis research on lithium batteries in smart meters, design and application challenges of ADE7978+ADE7932 full manganese copper three-phase energy meters, application of connectors in smart energy meters, and regulations and testing of smart meters in the EU. The participants actively engaged in discussions, contributing their insights based on their own experiences to the standardization of electrical instruments and meters. They also reviewed multiple national standards, such as "Single-phase Smart Energy Meter" and "Three-phase Smart Energy Meter," during the conference.

Comrade Teng Huaqiang, the Secretary General of the Shanghai Instrument and Instrument Society, delivered an important speech at the meeting. He expressed his gratitude for the long-term support of the work of the Shanghai Instrument and Instrument Society and the Standardization Committee of the National Electrical Instrument and Instrument Standardization Committee, and gave his opinions on strengthening the exchanges between institutes and enterprises, improving the participation of experts from enterprises in standardization work, and the direction of future standardization work. He hoped that everyone would continue to work hard to promote the continuous progress of standardization work.
